Our hair consists largely of proteins. Just as we need protein in our diet, we need protein in our hair care routine to maintain healthy hair. Protein strengthens hair by attaching to the hair shaft in a few ways. By penetrating the cuticle and strengthening it from within. By filling in gaps and holes in the cuticle layer. And by creating a protective layer and strengthening the hair from the outside. By filling in these gaps, protein helps the hair maintain its moisture levels.
Finding a balance is key. Protein and fluid are in a constant battle. Protein pushes moisture out, moisture pushes protein out.

Usage
The number of drops you can add to your product depends on several factors:
- The length of your curls
- The thickness of your hair
- The porosity/elasticity of your curls
- The type of product you want to add the drops to
We recommend adding at least 5-10 drops per side/section to your styling product(s). If your hair is longer and thicker, use more drops.
If your hair feels stiff or rough after applying the drops, you probably used too much or your hair is not accepting the protein at the time.
When using a mask, we recommend adding at least 15 drops, depending on the length of your hair and the amount of product you use.
You can also use the drops for a refresh. If after a few days you have saggy curls or your hair looks dry, spray your hair damp or wet, take a little gel or cream in your palm and add a few protein drops. Rub your hands together to mix well.
If you prefer not to add product to your hair, you can also apply a few drops directly to your hands and then apply them to damp hair to restore shine and bounce to your curls."
